Well firstly, lets start by saying that a Clarity Enhanced diamond by Diamond Coco are REAL diamonds that will look just as beautiful as a GIA or EGLUSA certified diamond costing considerably more.

So tell me more…

Almost every diamond has internal ‘inclusions’ that are created in nature. The size and quantity of these natural inclusions gives rise to one of the 4 C’s called ‘Clarity’ and is an essential characteristic to both the price and visual beauty of a diamond.

When a diamonds inclusions are small enough that they can’t be seen with the naked eye, it is what we call ‘eye clean’. Diamonds that are eye clean are highly desirable because when looking into the diamond you see no obvious spots, lines, feathers etc. These diamonds are those that are referred to as Flawless (FL) to Slightly Included (SI) on the diamond grading scale.

Diamonds that have ‘visible’ inclusions on the other hand are those that are referred to as ‘included’ and are usually graded as ‘I’ or ‘P’ with a number 1 to 3 after it (depending on the extent of these inclusions). For these diamonds you will easily see one or more black dots or lines when looking into it.

The principle of Clarity Enhancement is to make these ‘inclusions’ invisible to the naked eye. To achieve this, the diamond undergoes a state of the art process that injects a very small quantity of glass-like material into the inclusions. This material has an optical characteristic almost the same as a natural diamond and the process is both invisible and permanent.

Post treatment, a diamond that may well have started out as included diamond will now have a clarity comparable to a VS or SI diamond. Side by side with an untreated diamond you will see no visual difference between the two. The only telling sign will be the price which will be at least 50% less!
